The upper room experience is the threshold to the miraculous. In 2Kings 4:8-37 is a beautiful story of a woman who prepared an upper room and because of her desire to prepare this room she received a wonderful miracle from the hand of God. In verse 8-10 we find that she request from her husband that they prepare a room for the man of God and in that room was placed a bed, a table, a chair, and a lampstand. This was a physical room with furniture but for you and I to have a place where we can connect with God it doesn't have to be a physical room. It needs to be a place where we go to fellowship with the Lord in the spirit. A quiet place where we can meet with God. If we will supply the room and by room I mean the time - God will supply the furnishings. Four furnishings that are necessary in an upper room; a bed, a table, a chair and a lampstand. So, if we supply the time God will equip our spiritual room with the necessary furnishings. First of all He will place a bed in that upper room. A place where we can rest. After going through much chaos in our lives we need a place where we can go and rest and sense the peace of God. We can find it in that upper room. Next He will supply a table for we will be fed in that precious upper room. We will be fed heavenly food for our spirit. Something our spirit desperately needs to survive and flourish. He will also supply a chair - for many times it is necessary for us to wait for Him to show up. This is crucial - don't leave the upper room until God shows up. Many christians make the mistake of coming before the Lord in prayer only to leave before He actually shows up. Wait for Him - it'll be worth the wait! Lastly He will provide a lampstand. This lampstand will open our eyes to receive divine revelation straight from God. You will have a better understanding of His Word and comprehend what before was confusing to you. Prepare your upper room today and get ready for your miracle!
